Psychotherapy is a process of working through concerns, issues, and/or problems by psychological rather than medical means. My primary approach to therapy is Psychodynamic, which focuses on unconscious processes, most often developed in your past, that are now having a negative impact on your present functioning and possibly your future well-being.
As a psychologist, I help navigate through your concerns using different communication techniques, including talking, writing, art and more. Our therapy goals are designed to increase your understanding of negative processes in your life in order develop new coping skills and increase your self-awareness. This approach allows us to work together to make positive and lasting changes.
Office meetings range from 45 to 60 minutes, generally starting weekly and then decreasing in frequency as progress toward your goals are achieved. The relationship between you and myself is strictly professional and exists solely for the purpose of helping you, the client, achieve your goals.
